Tiago Oliveira is left disillusioned as adult life in Brazil deals its first knockout blows. His
hometown is known as the southern gate to the jungle, but there is nothing exotic in dusty
streets and empty stadiums. A brutal attack on Tiago’s mother devastates their already-
discordant family. The perpetrator’s subsequent acquittal, on corrupt religious grounds,
spurs Tiago’s hunt for purpose, forgiveness, and revenge.
Wracked with guilt, and fighting to keep an emotional meltdown at bay, Tiago’s chase
across the globe spans Russia, London, and the depths of the Amazônia.
Causa is my debut novel. Inspired by a true story, it is a tragic thriller set between World Cups in Brazil and Russia. I am currently seeking representation for the book.
